Hi, I’m James, I’m 15 and love playing tennis, cycling and rowing as well as playing the guitar and doing origami. I’m from a village outside Cambridge and my favourite subjects are Chemistry and Geography.
I joined the board for the experience of shaping policies which affect the lives of young people.
I’m particularly interested in the influence social media and the internet can have in shaping young people’s lives, wellbeing and views. This is especially important now that younger and younger people are gaining access to the internet and could be affected both positively and negatively. I hope to voice my opinion in order to create materials, resources and policies that young people can use to ensure a positive experience online.
So far, the Youth Advisory Board has been an amazing experience and I’ve not only made friends, but feel my opinion has helped Childnet and young people equally.
