The young people who are part of the Advisory Board are passionate about making the internet a safer and more positive environment for everyone, they champion and celebrate the opportunities being online has to offer, whilst also creating change that can make a real difference to young people’s lives online.
What does the Youth Advisory Board do?
The board meet online each month to talk about young people’s online experiences, feedback on Childnet projects, and speak up about the online issues impacting them the most.
Over the past few years, the board have had some exciting opportunities, such as delivering speeches at online safety events, workshopping ideas with the internet industry, visiting Parliament to talk to MPs, and taking part in events for the UK Safer Internet Centre across the country. Our board have also co-produced some exciting educational resources which are used in schools across the UK.
The Childnet Youth Advisory board plays a key role in ensuring we fulfil our mission of representing the views and interest of all young people across the UK.
The board meet once a month, and the Childnet Team utilise this time to ensure our messaging, policy, and resources are reflective of the issues currently affecting young people, and that these are delivered in a way that is accessible for all young people across the UK.
