Finalist’s Event 2016

All you need to know about the Childnet FIlm Competitions finalist’s event including this year’s judges and prizes!

The Childnet Film Competition finalist’s event is where we celebrate the amazing work of the competition finalists and announce who has taken 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!

This year’s finalist’s event took place on Monday 18th July at the BFI in London and included a private screening of all the films to the finalists and industry guests.

Here’s a bit more information about the 2016 finalists’ films, the private screening, the judges for 2016 and the amazing prizes our finalist schools won!

The screening

Each year hundreds of primary and secondary schools and youth organisations across the UK submit their internet safety films to the Childnet Film Competition.

From those entries the Childnet team choose the top 3 entries in each category, these become our finalists.

These finalists are invited to attend a private screening at the BFI.

All the finalists’ films are shown on the big screen and the young people are given an opportunity to share what they learnt and enjoyed most about making their films.

To get a taster of what to expect, here’s some of the highlights from the 2015 event:

The judges

On the morning of the finalist’s event the judges met to make the tough decision on who took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!
