Do you know any young people aged 7-18 who are passionate about film? Can they tell a good story, create animation or inspire positive change? Would they like to make a short film about online safety?
2024 theme: How would you make the internet a better place?
We’re looking for films made by young people that inspire their friends and others to create positive changes in online spaces! If they’ve got something original to say about creating a better and safer internet, then we’d love to know about it! Remember films should be both entertaining and educational.
- The Childnet Film Competition launches, 26 September 2023
- Last date for ALL film entries, 5pm on the 22 April 2024
Choose from Primary (7-11 years) or Secondary (11-18 years).
Celebrating 15 years of championing youth voice!
Since 2010, thousands of young people aged 7-18 and hundreds of schools and youth organisations across the UK have entered the Childnet Film Competition, creating films to help other young people stay safe online.
Our competition provides a platform for young people to tell their stories and be heard in spaces they can’t usually access. Over the years, schools and youth groups have won DSLR cameras, tripods and filmmaking equipment…in short everything young people need to keep making great films!
Want to connect young people with film industry experts?
Finalists will be invited to our awards ceremony in Central London and in the past have met some of our prestigious judges from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), BBC and Disney!
Ready to submit your film? Use the online entry link below to complete the entry form and attach a link to where your finished film is hosted (please note: only use this form when you have a film to submit).
