This 2 page leaflet has been created after consultation with the Childnet Youth Advisory Board and Digital Champions.
Designed to provide parents and carers with everything they need to know about the topic of group chats, it includes insights on:
- key terms and what group chats are,
- the positives and negatives of young people participating in group chats,
- strategies young people are already using to manage their experiences online,
- advice for supporting children of different ages with group chats.
This resource can be downloaded and read on a device, or printed.
Many teachers and professionals in schools have told us how use of group chats is impacting their learners. This resource could also be shared by a school (in a printed or digital format) directly to parents and carers to improve their understanding and share advice.
