Film Competition 2019 – taking a closer look at the prizes

22 May 2019

The prizes for the Film Competition have arrived! The prizes will be given at the finalists’ event at the BFI in London on the 3rd of July and will be awarded for the first, second and third placed entries in both categories. This means any team who is shortlisted will be winning a prize!

Some of the great prizes to be won for the school include DSLR cameras and filming kits which will help young filmmakers to make and create even more amazing films! Remember, they can be won in both the Primary and Secondary categories and so everyone has a really good chance of winning.

What happens at the finalists’ event?

Once all the entries are in, we will shortlist the three top films from each of the categories. The three selected finalists from both the primary and secondary age category will be invited to a private screening with industry guests at London’s British Film Institute (BFI). They will then be presented with great prizes for their school or youth organisation to award them for their creative achievements!

The Childnet Film Competition finalists’ event is a great opportunity for our finalists to meet each other, watch their films on the big screen at the BFI in London and find out where they have placed in the competition!

The Judges

Our Judging panel is made up of a range of industry experts from BAFTA, the BBC, the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC), and the British Film Institute (BFI)

The judging panel will look out for films which are creative, encompass the theme and which have a clear and positive online safety message.
