Childnet 20th anniversary report

27 October 2015

This month Childnet celebrates its 20th anniversary. To mark two decades working in partnership with others around the world to help make the internet a great and safe place for children, we’ve produced a special 20th anniversary report.

The report brings together our history under four key values that have remained at the heart of what we do from the very beginning. It shows how our empowering, youth-led, evidenced-based and collaborative approach has helped us continue to promote the positive power of the internet whilst responding to the risks and promoting children’s resilience and wellbeing, both in the UK and globally.

The report was launched at our 20th anniversary event on 22nd October. Attended by representative from across industry, charity, education, government, academia and police, as well as young people who have been involved in Childnet’s work, the event was a chance to look back over Childnet’s history whilst also looking to the future.

What our history has taught us is that keeping children safe online is a shared responsibility and our successes are down to our partnerships. That’s why we’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has worked with us, including all the young people who have participated in our work. We look forward to another 20 years of working towards the collective goal of empowering children and young people to have a safe and positive time online.
