Cyclist raising funds for Childnet with RideLondon challenge

19 May 2022

Kevin Franklin is using pedal power to promote online safety and raise funds for Childnet.

Since joining the charity’s Board of Trustees earlier this year, Kevin has been impressed by Childnet and its wide range of projects for young people.

So impressed, in fact, that he is participating in the RideLondon event on May 29th when he will cycle 100 miles around the roads of London and Essex. All the proceeds from his monster ride will go towards Childnet’s excellent work supporting children and young people to stay safe online.

“I’m delighted to be raising money for Childnet, which helps to make the internet a great and safe place for children and young people,” said Kevin.

“They support teachers, parents, carers and children with their inspirational team of dedicated professionals. It’s a great cause and charity to get behind.”

Billed as the world’s greatest festival of cycling, RideLondon sets off from Victoria Embankment before heading to the roads of Essex and back to the finish line at Tower Bridge.

Kevin added: “I completed the Ride London event five years ago too, so I know that it’s a real challenge, but I’m looking forward to doing it all again.

“It’s a fantastic event, with 100,000 riders involved in the various challenges, and it will be great to raise some money. Hopefully, other participants will also be riding for Childnet too!”
