Safer Internet Day 2020 – One week to go!

In this blog, we will share a few ways you can help with a final push before Safer Internet Day on the 11th of February! We need your help to try and reach as many people as possible.

With less than a week to go until Safer Internet Day 2020, we have already seen more than 1,100 organisations join the list of supporters! Thank you to all of the organisations that have signed up, and for those that haven’t yet there is still time to do so!

We have also just launched the Safer Internet Day Quiz! This quiz is a fun way for young people aged 7-11 to test their knowledge of online identity.

Here are some more ways you can get involved with Safer Internet Day 2020:

#1 Spread the word!

Download our Social Media Guide to help you spread the word. This includes our social media posts, images and ways you can get involved on social media – don’t forget to use the hashtage #SaferInternetDay and #freetobe!Here are some quick examples:

Register as a supporter and join over 1,100 organisations across the UK. If you’ve joined us already, why not encourage other organisations to register!

#4 Download and share the learning resources

Take a look at the great resources on the UK Safer Internet Centre website, including Education Packs, Safer Internet Day films, quiz, top tips and more! Educators can use these resources with young people to facilitate discussions on identity online.

#5 Schedule this Tweet for 8am on 11th February

Further resources

There’s also some great information for parents and carers, and how they can support their children to explore how the internet shapes the way that they think of themselves and others. Our resource pack includes fun activities, conversation starters and top tips to help parents and carers discuss these issues at home.
