Looking at digital wellbeing following Mental Health Awareness Week

Young people are growing up in a world where technology has always been present for them and this can have both a positive and negative impact on their lives.

On the one hand going online can mean being connected to friends, sharing experiences and learning new things but all of these experiences can also pose challenges for young people. With the online world being such a huge part of young people’s lives today, it’s very important that we help them to understand how to use it safely, sensibly and with an awareness of how it can impact on them.

Digital resilience – resources for use with 11-14 year olds

Digital resilience is a key skill that we want young people to develop. Whilst going online can be incredibly fun and enjoyable, there can also be times when a young person can feel upset, not good enough or left out. We have created a lesson plan to help young people aged 11-14 manage their lives online and to help others.

This lesson aims to look at the positive and negative experiences young people have online, consider the impact they may have and devise ways to build digital resilience.
