Fabian joins Childnet as Administration and Community Apprentice

20 June 2019

We’re delighted to welcome Fabian as the newest member of the Childnet team! We caught up with him to find out a bit more about his new role here at Childnet.

How have you found working at Childnet so far?

It’s been excellent, everyone has been lovely and done everything possible to help me settle in and find my feet. Seeing the work Childnet does has made me eager to make a good impression, and has inspired me to produce my absolute best.

What did you do before coming to Childnet? How will this help you in your new role?

I worked in a phone shop, so quite a marked difference on the surface. However, in my previous role I was often helping children, young people and parents with all sorts of issues around staying safe online, which has given me some valuable experience of what kinds of difficulties children face today in terms of e-safety.

What part of working at Childnet are you most looking forward to?

Truly making a difference to children and young people’s lives. The work that Childnet does is invaluable in setting young people up for a responsible online presence for years to come, and it’s an honour to be a part of that journey.

What is your online safety top tip?

Anything you say or do online should be treated the same as if you were saying or doing the same thing in the real world. Not only do your actions have an impact on the person or people at the other end, but it leaves an indelible imprint of your personality, however accurate you believe that version of yourself to be.
