Well Versed

28 March 2014

The Parent Zone have teamed up with Google, Livity and a host of YouTube stars to launch a new e-safety project entitled ‘Well Versed’.

The project, aimed at 13 -15 year olds, gives young people a chance to share peer to peer tips, techniques and secrets for navigating the online world safely.

On the Well Versed website young people can submit a 15 second video sharing their advice in the most creative and engaging way possible

As YouTuber and storyteller extraordinaire, PJ, explains this is a chance to get creative by writing and then filming some online safety advice. These one or two lines can be spoken, drawn, animated or acted, whatever makes it stand out.The best entries will be put together into a film to be featured on the You Tube channel.

To enter visit http://www.wellversed.co.uk/ and upload a video before the closing date on Friday 9 May. Remember to follow these 4 rules:

  1. Your age – You need to be between 13 and 18 years old & live in the UK
  2. Your people – Get permission from anyone appearing in your film, and make sure they’re 13-18 too
  3. Your media – Please don’t use music, and any photos or animations must be your own
  4. Your clip – Please keep your film 15 seconds or less, make sure there’s no background noise & use PJ’s verse as a guide for rhythm

If you are a secondary school looking to get involved The Parent Zone have developed a set of resources to support schools’ involvement including an assembly presentation, letter to parents and a ‘how to’ guide to the project.
